PRESILENCER [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

• The presilencer reduces exhaust noise.

Construction

• The presilencer is located behind the catalytic converter (TWC).

  

• The presilencer consists of the filter, stuffing, and stainless steel wool.

  

• The exhaust gas passes inside the filter.

• Exhaust noise is reduced as it is absorbed by the stuffing.

• The stainless steel wool works as a cover to prevent the stuffing from flowing out.
