FRONT BRAKE (DISC)
Purpose/Function
-
For the front brake (disc), a ventilated-type disc with a 280 mm {11.0 in} diameter and a 22 mm {0.87 in} thickness has been adopted to enhance braking force and fade resistance.
Construction
Single piston caliper
4-pot opposed piston caliper
Operation
Single piston caliper
-
When brake fluid is applied, the piston equipped on one side of the caliper is pushed out and the brake pad is pushed against the disc plate. At the same time, the caliper body moves in the direction opposite of the direction in which the piston is pushed out so as to push the brake pad on the other side, generating a brake force.
