DOUBLE CONE SYNCHRONIZER MECHANISM

A linked, double-cone synchronizer mechanism has been adopted for 5th gear.

The basic construction of the double-cone synchronizer mechanism is the same as a triple-cone synchronizer mechanism except that friction force is not generated because there is no contact surface between the inner cone and gear. (See TRIPLE CONE SYNCHRONIZER MECHANISM.)
