Operation
Operation condition
-
When the door lock and link switch lock/unlock signal is detected while all the door latch switches and trunk lid latch switch off signals (all doors and trunk lid closed) are detected, the power door and fuel-filler lid lock system operates.
Lock operation using front door key cylinder
1. When the key is inserted in the front door key cylinder and a lock operation is performed, the door key cylinder switch switches to the lock side.
2. When the BCM detects a door key cylinder switch lock signal (1), it sends a door key cylinder switch lock signal (2) to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the door key cylinder switch lock signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the door lock relay on (4).
4. When the door lock relay turns on, the door lock actuator and fuel-filler lid lock actuator motors perform a lock operation (5), and the door and fuel-filler lid lock.
Lock operation using door lock switch
1. When the door lock switch is operated to lock, the door lock switch switches to the lock side.
2. When the BCM detects the door lock switch lock signal (1), it sends the door lock switch lock signal (2) to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the door lock switch lock signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the door lock relay on (4).
4. When the door lock relay turns on, the door lock actuator and fuel-filler lid lock actuator motors perform a lock operation (5), and the doors and fuel-filler lid lock.
2-step unlocking function operation using door key cylinder
-
Timing chart of 2-step unlocking function operation using door key cylinder
-
If the driver’s door key cylinder switch is held in the unlock position for approx. 1 s with all the doors locked, the 2-step unlocking function operates.
1. When the front door key cylinder is operated to unlock, the key cylinder switch switches to the unlock side.
2. When the BCM detects the key cylinder switch unlock signal (1), it sends the key cylinder switch unlock signal (2) to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the key cylinder switch unlock signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the door unlock relay on (4).
4. When the door lock relay turns on, the door lock actuator and fuel-filler lid lock actuator motors perform an unlock operation (5), and the driver’s door and fuel-filler lid unlock.
5. When the BCM detects the key cylinder switch unlock signal (1) for approx. 1 s, it sends the key cylinder switch 2-step unlocking signal (6) to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
6. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the key cylinder switch 2-step unlocking signal, it turns the transistor on (7) and the 2-step unlocking relay on (8).
7. When the 2-step unlocking relay turns on, the door lock actuator motor performs an unlock operation (9), and the passenger’s door unlocks.
2-step unlocking function operation using remote transmitter
-
Timing chart of 2-step unlocking function operation using remote transmitter
-
If the following condition is met with all the doors locked, the 2-step unlocking function operates.
-
The BCM receives an unlock signal by the remote transmitter operation, and within 3 s it receives another unlock signal by the remote transmitter operation.
1. When the unlock button of the remote transmitter is pressed, the remote transmitter sends (1) ID data to the key receiver.
2. The keyless receiver receives ID data and transmits (2) the data to the start stop unit.
3. The start stop unit verifies the ID data, and if the ID data matches, it sends (3) an unlock request signal to the BCM.
4. When the BCM receives the unlock request signal, it sends (4) an unlock signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
5. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the unlock signal, it operates (5) the door lock actuator and fuel-filler lid lock actuator motors to unlock the driver’s door and the fuel-filler lid.
6. The BCM flashes (6) each turn light two times.
7. When the BCM receives the unlock request signal within approx. 3 s after receiving the unlock request signal, it sends (7) a 2-step unlocking signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
8. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the 2-step unlocking signal, it operates (8) the door lock actuator motor to unlock the passenger door.
Collision detection unlock function operation
1. If the vehicle is involved in a collision, the SAS control module sends (1) a collision detection door unlock signal to the BCM via CAN communication and it sends (2) the signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via hard wire.
2. The BCM sends (3) the received collision detection door unlock signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
3. The electrical supply unit (ESU) unlocks all the doors after approx. 6 s it received the collision detection door unlock signal (4).
NOTE:
-
The collision detection unlock function will operate even if only one of the signals is sent.
