GENERAL PROCEDURES (BRAKE)

Wheel And Tire Installation

1. When installing the wheels and tires, tighten the wheel nuts to the following tightening torque in the order shown in the figure.

    Tightening torque

  • 108—147 N·m {12—14 kgf·m, 80—108 ft·lbf}

Brake Lines Disconnection

1. If any brake line has been disconnected during the procedures, add brake fluid, bleed the brakes, and inspect for leakage after the procedure has been completed.

CAUTION:

  • Brake fluid will damage painted surfaces. Be careful not to spill any on painted surfaces. In addition, if there is any brake fluid on the wiring harness, the wire insulation may corrode causing a malfunction such as a short circuit. If brake fluid gets on a painted surface or wiring harness, wash and flush it off completely with water immediately.

Brake Pipe Flare Nut Tightening

1. Tighten the brake pipe flare nut using any commercially available flare nut wrench.
