DTC U0115:00 [TCM (SJ6A-EL)]

DTC U0115:00

CAN communication: Communication error between PCM (local CAN between TCM and PCM)

DETECTION CONDITION

  • Vehicle condition: TCM communication normal

  • Status: Detects communication error with PCM

  • Period: Detects communication time-out

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

  • Inhibits learning control.

  • Inhibits direct mode.

  • Inhibits AAS mode.

  • Inhibits the TCC control and slip control.

  • Inhibits 5GR and 6GR.

  • Inhibits the neutral control.

  • Inhibits the slope control.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • PCM connector or terminal malfunction

  • TCM connector or terminal malfunction

  • CAN communication line malfunction between PCM and TCM

  • CAN drive error (TCM or PCM)

  • PCM malfunction

  • TCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION

NOTE:

  • Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture of the PC function.

  • Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.

Go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY

  • Verify related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability.

  • Is any related repair information available?

Yes

Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.

  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER RELATED DTCs

Yes

Follow the applicable DTC inspection procedure, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the PCM connector.

  • Inspect for poor connection at PCM terminals 1A and 1B (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).

  • Are terminals normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 7.

INSPECT TCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION

  • Disconnect the TCM connector.

  • Inspect for poor connection at TCM terminals 1AI and 1AE (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).

  • Are terminals normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 7.

VERIFY PCM DTC

Yes

DTC U0074:00 or U0302:00 is displayed:

  • CAN communication line can be considered the cause.

    • Repair or replace the wiring harness between PCM and TCM, then go to the next step.

DTC other than U0074:00 and U0302:00 is displayed:

No

PCM can be considered the cause.

VERIFY SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT

Yes

Replace the TCM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE [TCM (SJ6A-EL)].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
