STEERING SHIFT SWITCH INSPECTION [SJ6A-EL]
WARNING:

Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) 3. Disconnect the steering shift switch wiring harness connector.
4. Remove the column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Using a precision flathead screwdriver, release the tab.
6. Measure the continuity between steering shift switch wiring harness connector terminals A—B and terminals D—E.
