TRUNK LID REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

TRUNK LID REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
WARNING:
-
Always fully open the trunk lid and support the trunk lid before removing the stay damper. If the stay damper is removed without supporting the trunk lid, the trunk lid may fall and cause injury.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. SiriusXM satellite radio antenna (with SiriusXM satellite radio) (See SiriusXM SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. SiriusXM satellite radio antenna feeder (with SiriusXM satellite radio) (See SiriusXM SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA FEEDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Trunk lid striker (See TRUNK LID LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Insert the remover tool into the position shown in the figure.
4. Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull the band.
5. Remove the stay damper.
CAUTION:
-
If a different type of metal such as iron contacts the aluminum panel (aluminum), it could corrode the aluminum. Use exclusive surface finished bolts for the aluminum panel installation.
6. Remove the bolts.
7. Remove the trunk lid.
8. Remove the nuts.
9. Remove the trunk lid hinge.
10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
11. Adjust the trunk lid. (See TRUNK LID ADJUSTMENT.)
