Purpose
• The engine oil level sensor detects the engine oil level in the oil pan.
Function
• The engine oil level sensor intakes the engine oil and measures the engine oil level based on the rate at which the ultrasonic waves are reflected off the surface of the engine oil and into the internal detection part.

• The detected engine oil level is input to the PCM as an engine oil level signal.
Construction
• The engine oil level sensor is located on the lower part of the oil pan.

• A piezoelectric element has been adopted for the detection part of the engine oil level sensor.
Operation
• The engine oil level sensor sends the signal to the PCM, which changes according to the engine oil level, via LIN communication.
