Purpose
• The turn light system controls the turn lights to flash according to the turn switch operation.
Function
• The BCM performs control as follows based on the turn switch LH or RH signal sent from the instrument cluster via the CAN communication.

― Period of time turn switch on signal is received is less than approx. 0.7 s: Controls the turn lights to flash 3 times automatically
― Period of time turn switch on signal is received is approx. 0.7 s or more: Controls the turn lights to flash according to the reception period

Operation
1. When the turn switch is in the LH or RH position, the instrument cluster detects (1) a turn switch LH signal or turn switch RH signal.
2. The instrument cluster sends (2) the turn switch LH signal or turn switch RH signal to the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.
3. When the body control module (BCM) receives the turn switch LH signal or turn switch RH signal with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), it sends (3) a turn light (LH) flash request signal or turn light (RH) flash request signal to each unit via CAN communication.
4. When each unit receives the turn light (LH) flash request signal or turn light (RH) flash request signal, it flashes (4) the turn light (LH) flash request signal or turn light (RH) flash request signal.
5. When the body control module (BCM) receives the turn switch LH signal or turn switch RH signal from the instrument cluster for less than 0.7 s if the turn light system personalization (three-flash turn signal) is on, it flashes the turn light (LH) or turn light (RH) three times automatically.
6. When the body control module (BCM) receives a turn switch signal for the opposite side while the turn light (LH) or (RH) is flashing 3 times automatically, it cancels the current automatic flashing. However, if the body control module (BCM) receives the turn switch signal for the opposite side for
0.2 s or more, it flashes the turn light while the turn light signal is being received.
