U.S.A. and CANADA (Charcoal canister (main))

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)

2.Remove the main silencer. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)

3.Remove the insulator (rear). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)

4.Remove in the order indicated in the table.

5.Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.Remove the charcoal canister (main) and charcoal canister (main) bracket as a single unit.

2.Release the lock as shown in the figure.

1.Install the charcoal canister (main) bracket hook into the hole on the body.

2.Temporarily tighten nut A.

3.Temporarily tighten nuts B.

4.Completely tighten nut A.

5.Completely tighten nuts B.

U.S.A. and CANADA (Charcoal canister (sub))

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)

2.Remove the rear tire (RH). (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.Remove the rear splash shield (RH). (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.Remove the cap nuts. (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.Set the rear mudguard (RH) aside. (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7.Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.Temporarily install the charcoal canister (sub) component to the vehicle-side stud bolt.

2.Temporarily tighten nut A.

3.Temporarily tighten nut B.

4.Temporarily tighten nut C.

5.Temporarily tighten nut D.

6.Completely tighten nuts A and C.

7.Completely tighten nuts B and D.
