Outline
-
Warning
-
• The distance & speed alert (DSA) indicates the warning when the distance between the vehicle ahead is too close for safe driving. The distance & speed alert (DSA) system does not keep the distance between the vehicle ahead.• The distance & speed alert (DSA) may not operate normally under the following conditions.
-
― Visibility is reduced due to a vehicle ahead casting off water, snow, or sand.― Heavy cargo is loaded in the luggage compartment or on the rear seat.― Ice, snow or dirt adheres to the surface of the radiator grille or front emblem.― Inclement weather caused by snow, rain or sand storms.― Driving near facilities and buildings which emit strong radio waves.― The distance between the vehicle and the vehicle ahead is extremely short.― Another vehicle cuts into the driving lane ahead of the vehicle.― Driving on a continuously curving road.― Entering or exiting a curve.― Driving on narrow lane roads due to road construction or lane closures.― The vehicle ahead or an obstruction enters the blind spot of the radar unit.― Driving under erratic conditions in which there is a surrounding accident or vehicle breakdown.― Driving on roads with repeated up and down slopes.― Driving on poor roads or unpaved roads.

Functions
Notification
-
• When the calculated distance is close, i-ACTIVSENSE Status Symbol (Warning / Risk Avoidance Support System) changes from green to amber and the warning indication is displayed on the multi-information display.
Personalization
-
• The distance & speed alert (DSA) can be personalized as follows: For details on the personalization features, refer to the [PERSONALIZATION FEATURES]
-
― The system can be set to ON (operational)/OFF (non-operational) (initial setting is ON (operational).)
-
System conditions display
-
• The body control module (BCM) displays the system status in the multi-information display.

Operation
Notification
-
Operation condition
-
― Vehicle speed calculated by body control module (BCM), based on wheel speed signals received via CAN communication from DSC HU/CM, is 30 km/h {19 mph} or more
-
Operation
-
1. The body control module (BCM) calculates the distance between the detecting vehicle and the vehicle ahead based on the object information (1) from the front radar sensor and the forward sensing camera (FSC), and sends a driving assist system status signal (2) to the instrument cluster.2. When the instrument cluster receives a driving assist system status signal (2) from the body control module (BCM), it changes the color of i-ACTIVSENSE Status Symbol (Warning / Risk Avoidance Support System) from green to amber (3) and display the warning indication (3) on the multi-information display.
-
Note
-
When i-ACTIVSENSE switch is operated with the distance & speed alert (DSA) turned on, the distance & speed alert (DSA) turns off.
