The temperature restriction control is to prevent part damage. It is not a control which operates when a malfunction occurs. Therefore, do not replace the part.
Outline
• If the driver continues to depress the accelerator pedal accidentally while asleep with the vehicle stopped and the engine running, the continuous high engine speed causes the temperature of the engine and exhaust system parts to increase. If the temperature of the engine and exhaust system parts increases, it may cause part damage. To prevent this, the PCM performs the temperature restriction control when the following operation conditions are met.
