• The keyless beeper is not activated when door lock/unlock operation is performed using the remote transmitter button.

• Personalization feature not set
• Connector or terminal malfunction of the following parts:
• Short to power supply, short to ground, or open circuit in keyless beeper signal circuit
• Keyless beeper malfunction
• BCM malfunction

VERIFY PERSONALIZATION FEATURES SETTING
• Verify the volume of the keyless beeper for the personalization features. (See SECURITY AND LOCKS PERSONALIZATION FEATURES SETTING PROCEDURE.)
• Has the volume of the keyless beeper been set to off?

Yes
|
Set the volume so that the keyless beeper is activated and verify the operation.
Operation is verified:
• Troubleshooting completed. (Explain the contents of the servicing to the customer.)
Operation is not verified:
• Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT KEYLESS BEEPER AND BCM CONNECTORS FOR MALFUNCTION
• Inspect the applicable connector and terminal. (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)
• Are the connector and terminal normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT KEYLESS BEEPER SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY, SHORT TO GROUND, AND OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect the signal circuit for a short to power supply, short to ground, and an open circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.)
• Is the circuit normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT KEYLESS BEEPER FOR MALFUNCTION
• Inspect the applicable part. (See KEYLESS BEEPER INSPECTION.)
• Is the part normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

Repair completion verification
|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?

Yes
|
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
|
No
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the BCM. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
