Note
-
• The fuel tank pressure sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the fuel tank pressure sensor, replace it together with the charcoal canister as a single unit.
Function Inspection
1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
3.Display the PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
4.Compare the voltage and fuel tank pressure indications for the PIDs EVAP_PRES and FTP with the standard in the table indicated below.
-
• If they do not match the standard, perform the voltage inspection. (See Voltage Inspection.)

Voltage Inspection
1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)
2.Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector. (See PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)
3.Disconnect the quick release connector (fuel tank-side). (See QUICK RELEASE CONNECTOR (EMISSION SYSTEM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].) (See PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)
4.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
5.Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
6.Verify that the output voltage of the fuel tank pressure sensor (PID: EVAP_PRES) changes when pressure is applied from the quick release connector (fuel tank side).
-
• If not as verified, replace the pressure control valve. (See PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (US))].)
