Caution
-
• If the lever position exceeds the operation range shown in the figure, the circuit in the actuator could be damaged. Always perform an actuator operation inspection with the lever movement within the range shown in the figure.
Actuator inspection
1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)].)
2.Remove the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)
3.Connector the air mix actuator connector.
4.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
5.Operate the air mix actuator using the simulation function. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)(See SIMULATION TABLE [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (US)].)
6.Verify that the air mix actuator operation condition is as shown in the figure.
|
7.If it does not operate as shown in the figure, replace the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)
Position sensor inspection
1.Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
2.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
3.Display PID “AIR_MIX_POS_L” using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (US)].)
4.Operate the temperature control dial.
5.Verify that the PID value conforms to the temperature control dial operation.
6.If it cannot be verified, replace the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)(See AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (US)].)
